What is a Doula's Role?

The word “doula” is an ancient Greek word which means “a woman who serves.”

A doula is a professional labor assistant or coach who provides physical and emotional support to you and your partner during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. We are nonjudgmental, helping parents make educated decisions by creating a sense of comfort and trust between us and your care providers. Here at BIRTHday Doulas of South Florida we pride ourselves on the relationships we’ve built for 17 years. Referred by Doctors, Midwives and clients alike, we are honored to be able to serve you.
